If bitten, every minute counts. Follow these steps immediately:

  • Wash the wound with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes
  • Apply antiseptic — do NOT bandage tightly
  • Go to the nearest hospital or PHC immediately
  • Start anti-rabies vaccination (ARV) within 24 hours
  • Report the incident on this portal for official follow-up
  • Complete the full vaccination course — do not skip doses
